The Unboxing: Mejuri

July 29, 2016

If you’ve been keeping up with the blog and noticed the links to the jewelry I’m wearing, you’ve probably noticed that I mention Mejuri in every single one of them. That’s because I wear their jewelry nonstop! I even have rings I never take off! I first noticed the brand around 1 year ago but made my first purchase, the open heart silver chain ring, about 5 months ago. I loved it so much I went ahead and purchased the silver evil eye ring in blue not long after and haven’t taken those off since! To be honest ever since I visited their website for the first time I’ve been head over heels for the evil eye ring blue in gold and most of their gold jewelry but it was all way out of my price range. Luckily, their silver jewelry is also gorgeous and much more affordable!

I’ve been wanting to buy another ring for some time now but it was when very good things happened to me a few days back that I decided to celebrate purchasing this smiley chain ring as a reminder of the immense happiness I felt. If you should pop over to their website, use this link for $20 off your first purchase! Also, if you subscribe to their email list you’ll get an additional 10% off! When purchasing chain rings, be very sure to check their size chart (I order 1-2 ring sizes up from my normal size). I completely trust this jewelry line as none of my pieces have changed color or left any green marks on my fingers and I wear these rings to sleep, in the shower, in the pool, doing the dishes, etc. etc. etc.! I think they are amazing quality and worth the investment! I can’t wait to continue growing my collection!

Which piece would you love to have?

No puedo esperar a seguir creciendo mi colección!

Cuál pieza te encantaria tener?

**UPDATE: This weekend only buy 2 get 15%, buy 3+ get 20%! (only on select 14k gold items)

The Makeup Bag: Save Edition

July 27, 2016

As promised, this week’s makeup post is all about saving some money while still purchasing quality products (see last week's post here)! There are so many drugstore products that I love and even prefer over higher-end ones! Take mascaras for example: after purchasing a couple of mascaras at Sephora, I realized that they just weren’t worth the money and that I could find equal or better ones at my local drugstore! They best thing about the drugstore is that if you feel intrigued to try something out but don’t end up loving it you’re out maybe just  $10 to $15 at the most instead of $30 to $50! That’s a huge win in my book! I would say the drugstore product I end up testing out the most are lipsticks! I’m always on the hunt for my next favorite! Right now its the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors as I’m sure you’ve noticed from my previous posts. What type of product are you constantly trying out from the drugstore?
------
TopLoreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer ($12.99)- This primer is amazing for adding some light to the high points of the face and makes any highlighter you put on top pop!; Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation ($12.99)- Love this for when I need a matte look to last all day!
MiddleLoreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup ($12.99)Loreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation ($16.99)- Love paring this with the Magic Lumi Primer described before!
Bottom:Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Makeup ($13.99)- I used to use the concealer on spots for a quick makeup look but I kept going through each concealer too fast! This gave me more product and would last longer!; Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector ($12.99)- An old classic.

BottomLoreal Brow Stylist Definer ($8.99)- Great drugstore alternative for Anastasia's Brow Wiz (but I still prefer the brow wiz!); Milani Brow Fix Kit ($8.99)- This is the first brow product I bought! I love that it comes with a good brush, tweezers, and a highlight shade!
TopRimmel Natural Bronzer ($4.99)Rimmel Kate Sculpting and Highlighting Kit ($6.99)- I've been using this almost everyday since I got it!

BottomJordana Fabuliner Liquid Eyeliner ($2.99)- An amazing liquid eyeliner for under $5, yes please!; Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner ($9.99)
BottomVolume Express Falsies Big Eyes Mascara ($7.99)CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara ($7.99)Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara ($8.99)- You can probably tell I love the Maybelline mascaras! They're pretty much all amazing but this is my favorite of the moment!
MiddleRimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick-Kate Moss Collection ($5.49)- #11 is the best ever red color I've seen on anybody!; Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color ($8.99)- I already own 4 colors and love them all! (Flirtation, Devotion, Addiction, Passion)
NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray ($7.99)- I can spray this on just after I've finished my makeup and it gives a nice dewy look that lasts all day without looking oily OR I can spray my face midday for a quick refresh!

While researching how to start a blog I read tons and tons of advice from bloggers I greatly admire, such as those from The Inspiration post. The one piece of advise that kept constant throughout my research was to stay true to myself. This advise really helped on this look. I woke up the Sunday I took these photos thinking I was going to wear and shoot a whole different outfit but, when I put it on I just felt uncomfortable and not me. Always strive to feel comfortable with yourself! You're style is special for one simple reason: it's your's! Have a beautiful week rocking your amazing style!

The Week in Outfits

July 23, 2016

July 11th-15th

Happy Saturday! You've come across another surprise post (previous one was The Recap: Haute Couture Fashion Week 2016)! I've been taking daily photos of what I'm wearing to run errands, go to meetings, celebratory lunches, etc. This is the first post like this and I would love to know what you think! Should I make these a regular Saturday post? Let me know! Have a great weekend!
------

MONDAY
Tee/Camisa: Forever 21 Jeans/Mahones: American Eagle (love the tomgirl fit) Necklace/Collar: Kate Spade Shoes/Zapatos: Tory Burch
Monday errands= crazy hair + ripped jeans + stripped t-shirt. I live in these jeans. The fit on the American Eagle Tomgirl Jeans makes them the most comfortable jeans I own! I have 2 of them, this one and a lighter wash, and am already planning my next purchase!

TUESDAY
Top/Blusa: Forever 21 (similar here and here) Shorts/Mahones Cortos: American Eagle (same fit here) Shoes/Zapatos: Converse Bag/Cartera: Forever 21
On Tuesday I ran even more errands, did some grocery shopping, took our daughter to camp and then headed to the gym (for which I changed into workout gear, obviously!). I love paring different jean materials together! And you may recognize the bag from this week's The Bucket Bag post!

WEDNESDAY
Dress/Traje: Forever 21 Jacket/Abrigo: Forever 21 Shoes/Zapatos: Forever 21 Necklace/Collar: Kate Spade
This t-shirt dress is definitely one I throw on for a quick and put-together outfit very often! You might recognize it from this instagram post (hit the follow button!). It does nothing for your body shape though so I added this jean jacket around the waist to accentuate my figure. I highly recommend these shoes! I haven't taken them off since getting them and they are so comfortable! Plus, and most importantly, they're buy one get one free now online!

THURSDAY
Dress/Traje: Old Navy (similar here) Shoes/Zapatos: Tory Burch Bag/Cartera: Kate Spade (smaller version here)
Wore this to have a celebratory lunch with my mom and sister! A chambray dress is a closet essential in my book! Its fresh and easy to throw on without much effort!

FRIDAY
Top/Blouse: Zara Jeans/Mahones: American Eagle (hi-rise fit) Shoes/Zapatos: Zara Necklace/Collar: Grace Personalized Bag/Cartera: Kate Spade (smaller version)
This was my favorite outfit of the week! I had a meeting with my mentor so I wanted to look chic and casual. I wish I could have found these shoes or some similar for you but I've had them for years! They are definitely my most used flats! I'll keep a look out for any similar version and will definitely share them with you!

The Inside Look: What's in My Bag

July 22, 2016

Today I thought I'd bring you an inside look into what's in my bag! For some weird reason most people, me included, find what's in other people's bags very intriguing! Its a must see on Youtube, so many up & coming Youtubers film this as a video, so I thought I'd do my own blogpost version. Enjoy!

The bagKate Spade Cobble Hill Straw Adrien (small version here, more affordable straw bucket bag here)

This bag was a special gift from my mother and I'm sure I'm going to wear it to death! Organic material has been a huge summer trend, so this straw bag is right on point. I love that its paired with white to give it a really clean and classic look. The size is perfect to serve as an everyday bag I can use for errands where I seem to continuously stuff my bag with receipts, purchases, etc. And I love that it has a shoulder strap for when I need both hands or it gets too heavy! It's just summer perfection as a bag!

These is everything I keep in my bag! If you don't know me very well you might find it surprising that I keep it so well organized and void of trash or any loose change, but I swear this is unedited! I'm a bit of a neat freak!

The big pocket: This is what you see as soon as you unzip the bag.

Sony DSC-QX10: This was a birthday gift from my husband a few years back. It's a lens that's basically its own camera. It connects with your phone via wifi and you are ready to take high quality photos anywhere directly from your phone!

Aldo Sunglass Case: Love these with a summery print for only $10!

Sunglasses: I bought these for $15 at kiosk in my local mall (Sunny Planet) because they are identical to the Dior So Real sunglasses which are around $560!

Mexican makeup bag: I bought this adorable little pouch while we were in Mexico for our honeymoon. I love the colors of it and that it's the perfect size to store the few makeup bits I carry with me but most of all, I love it because it reminds me of our honeymoon. More details bellow!

Coach wallet: I bought this around two years ago at the outlet store at Viejo San Juan and it was a great deal! I highly recommend visiting any of their outlet stores if you're searching for a new wallet!

Umbrella: I received this umbrella in a Popsugar Must Have Box. I love that its polka dot (like this one) but wish it was a bit smaller.

The makeup bag

Neutrogena Shine Control Powder: This is a must have if you have oily skin! I apply this during the day if I start to feel shiny using the little Bare Minerals brush pictured.

Dermablend Smooth Liquid Camo Concealer: This concealer is AMAZING! It is so thin yet has so much coverage! I love it for touching up my undereyes or that random spot! I use this with the Sephora Classic Mini Multitasking Brush pictured.

L'oreal Balm in Innocent Coral: As I mentioned in my Five Minute Face post, I love a natural face with coral lips and this is one of my go to's. Sadly, I couldn't find it online but this seems like it would give a similar effect.

Neutrogena Lip Balm: I bought this lip balm because it has a slight tint to it and its nearly the exact color of my own natural lips. Try these of you're looking for something similar!

The hair ties, bobby pin, and a safety pin are pretty self explanatory: I'm a girl!

The pockets: This bag has 3 pockets on the inside and the flap in front opens up to another pocket where I keep my phone (there's also a flap with a pocket in the back!).

Fan: I have this on me always! Especially in the summer when it gets so scorching hot and humid here in Puerto Rico!

Rifle Paper Co. phone case: I adore Rifle Paper Co. phone cases! Their designs are unique, flirty and feminine and so durable! My phone has never had a broken screen or any issues and I drop it a lot (knock on wood!)!

Other: Purell Hand Sanitizer, OFF! Mosquito Repellent (I love this small travel size but I can't find it anywhere anymore and I'm almost running out! If anyone knows where I could repurchase this please let me know!), Kleenex, and Eos Hand Lotion.
