The Swimsuits I Wore on Vacation

April 30, 2018

¡Hola! Long time, no blog! As I alluded to in previous posts, my husband and I recently went on vacation. We took a 6-day cruise starting in Miami which went to Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios and then spent 4 days in Miami. We were off the grid for the entire cruise but, we did take some outfit photos which I'll be sharing over the next couple of weeks! If you want to see more of our trip, you can check out the blog's Instagram where I have a story highlight of our travels!

Let's start things off by talking about the swimwear I took for a 10-day trip. Ok, so I took 5 bathing suits. Excessive? Maybe. Did I use them all? All but one so, I'd say it was worth it!

This colorful one-piece from Aerie was the first one I whipped out for our beach day in Nassau, Bahamas. I love its bright colors, the criss-cross back, the boatneck neckline, and the ruffles! Unfortunately I can't find it online, but I am loving the print on this one too!

Would you believe me if I told you this bikini only cost me $11? Well, believe it! Its from SheIn.com and I absolutely love it! There's another SheIn purchase coming up next so let's talk about the site a little more.

When I first found the website, I was flabbergasted by the amazing prices! I looked at hundreds of their swimsuits and read each review. By doing this I learned that the pieces run small. I'm usually a 0 or S but ordered these in M. This printed top required minimal alteration of the back strap because it was a little too big but otherwise it fit perfectly. I used this bikini both days we were at sea, even went down the slides in it, and it held up! No transparency issues either! I would definitely buy from the website again following these recommendations: read the reviews before buying for adequate sizing information, look for reviews that have photos, have in mind that they take 3-4 weeks to arrive and may need minimal alteration.

This is the other SheIn.com bikini I purchased for the trip. I wore this one for our day in Grand Cayman and loved it! Since the knot is adjustable, I could make it fit better than when it first arrived. The top is very sturdy and I could even lower the straps to take a more strapless tan and it stayed up magnificently. The bottoms are very cheeky, so have this in mind when purchasing! The jungle print one above had more coverage. Its unfortunately sold out in this color, but its equally as gorgeous in this periwinkle blue color!

Last but not least is the one I wore in Miami for the rooftop pool at our hotel, Atton Brickell Miami. This was my husband's favorite! Its the perfect one-piece suit! It has a low back, a cheeky bottom, some side boob action, and I love the slogan!

You guys are going to kill me but I can't find this one either (here it is in blue without the slogan). But I'll do you one better. Here's another slogan one-piece, same style and same brand, but 100 times more amazing. Its slogan says "Survivor" and 100% of sales benefits Darkness to Light a nonprofit organization which empowers adults to prevent child sexual abuse. I'd say this one is much better, wouldn't you agree?

Which was your favorite? Let me know below!
Con amor,
María Eugenia
