2020 Favorites
December 9, 2020
It's almost here: the end of 2020! I'm as excited as all of you to celebrate a new year with new potential and possibilities. I'm also anxious to leave all the not-so-good things that have happened behind and start anew. Here's a list of a few things I loved this year.
- I finally feel pretty good about my skincare routines and have *tried* to be as consistent as I can this year
- Morning routine
- Wash face with water (sometimes less is better)
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Cream
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with SPF 15
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla
- Night routine
- My makeup routine has been pretty much the same throughout the entire year consisting of:
- NYX Bare with Me Multitasking Spray (before and after makeup or to refresh throughout the day!)
- Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (Medium)
- KVD Lock-It Setting Powder
- NYX Ombre Blush
- Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara to tame my eyebrows
- Loreal mascaras: Air Volume Mega Mascara and/or Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
- The lipsticks that have proved themselves to be the best when it comes to staying on despite mask use are the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lip Color. I'm currently obsessed with the shade Ground-Breaker!
- As for nails, I'm obsessed with different shades per nail as seen on Pinterest. Check out my board here for inspiration.
- The best relationship I had this year is with my Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush! I have long hair and used to hate blow drying my hair because it would take forever. Now I can dry my hair in 15-20min, boom!
- I have been loving layered necklaces, as evidenced in my photos from Cabo San Lucas. Check out these brands: Viviana D' Ontanon, Mejuri.
- I find it so surreal that face masks are now a part of our daily lives. I personally have mine made by a staff member at the hospital who makes them with the best fit for me but I wanted to share these mask chains (4-pack for $10!) which are perfect for keeping your mask safe while you take them off for eating, photos, etc.
- As a surgery resident I spend the vast majority of my time in scrubs and have grown quite a FIGS collections this year. Use this link for $20 off!
- I discovered the magic of cheaper eyeglasses this year! I love the collection Hilary Duff has made with Muse for GlassesUSA.com! I mean, who doesn't want a pair of glasses designed by THE Lizzie McGuire?
- The best thing I did this year was take a break from it all and head over to Cabo San Lucas. See my whole post on the trip, including outfit information, here.
- This year I also took a deep look into my relationship with God. I saw that there was still so much work to be done there and so much work to be done in myself as a person. I subscribed to She Reads Truth and have honestly felt so much closer to Him. I'm currently reading the Advent Study Book and highly recommend! Check out their subscription box here.
- Since COVID-19, gyms have been closed so I've relied heavily on my Sweat subscription to keep me in shape! It offers simple workouts that can be done at home with little to no equipment.
- I think we all hit Netflix hard this year! I binged watched the following shows:
- The Crown (5/5 ⭐)
- The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime Video) (5/5 ⭐)
- Money Heist (5/5 ⭐)
- Emily in Paris (4/5 ⭐)
- Grace and Frankie (5/5 ⭐)
- Monk (Amazon Prime Video) (5/5 ⭐)
- Great British Baking Show (5/5 ⭐)
- The Duchess (2/5 ⭐)
- Schitt's Creek (4/5 ⭐)
- Man with a Plan (4/5 ⭐)
- Dream Home Makeover (5/5 ⭐)
- Get Organized with The Home Edit (3/5 ⭐)
- Queer Eye (5/5 ⭐)
- Cheer (4/5 ⭐)
- Guilty pleasures: Selling Sunset, Are You the One?, Love is Blind
- Loved these movies:
- Holidate (4/5 ⭐)
- Feel the Beat (4/5 ⭐)
- Life Itself (Amazon Prime Video) (3/5 ⭐)
- Enola Holmes (4/5 ⭐)
- Eurovision (4/5 ⭐)
- The Croods: A New Age: saw this at my first ever drive-in theater and loved it! (5/5 ⭐)
- Also enjoyed the following books:
- The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass: if you're new to the single life this book is for you. Don't let the title or cover push you away, it's full of amazing insight!
- All three collections of poems by Rupi Kaur
Let me know some of your favorites so I too can become obsessed!

Cabo San Lucas
December 3, 2020
Hola! As always, it's been a long time! A lot has happened since I last wrote, in my life and worldwide. I'm a little rusty but wanted to share a trip I recently took to Cabo San Lucas. I was in desperate need of quality time with myself and this trip was just what the doctor order (and I'm my own doctor, get it? hahaha) Here are a few snaps and outfit details. I hope this is a sign of me dusting off my blogging boots and getting back into it. I hope you're all still up for the ride!
A huge thank you to my dear friend Patricia (follow her Instagram) for coming along with me!

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos where we enjoyed an all-inclusive resort which is perfect when all you have in mind is to relax and not stress about the details of your vacation. On the day we arrived we had a smooth check-in, toured the room/hotel, and celebrated my birthday at the Mexican themed restaurant.
We started our full day at the resort with a massage at Rock Spa. I booked a deep tissue massage and enjoyed from the sauna, steam room, and hydrotherapy experience. It was the perfect way to peel off all the stress I was carrying and start off our vacation! We spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool, walking by the shore, and had dinner at the Zen Teppanyaki restaurant.
This was followed by a tour through the city of Cabo San Lucas and a shopping trip. We found a never ending passageway of local stores and bought tons of souvenirs. I loved all the bright colors! We then spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool.
Day four was spent, you guessed it, by the pool! We took full advantage of the "all-inclusive" situation enjoying pool-side meals and wine. We also had fun painting some pottery as an additional souvenir. Then we saw the sunset, had dinner, and put on some face masks!
For our last full day we went on a boat tour to the Arch, had lunch at The Sand Bar right on San Lucas Bay, enjoyed time at the beach, extra time by the pool, and a final dinner. It all sums up to the perfect holiday!
